GLAHCO Hotels and Tourism Development Company Ltd was incorporated in 1992 with the main objective of engaging in the hotel and tourism development business.

In pursuance of this objective, therefore, the company acquired the ownership of the then Continental Hotel which was refurbished into the now Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

The Golden Tulip Accra

The Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra is a four star deluxe with 234 air-conditioned guestrooms. The guestrooms include four (4) junior suites, two (2) luxurious executive suites as well as six (6) executive apartments as well as sixteen (16) chalets with a living room and kitchenette. The hotel is arguably the front-runner in the hospitality business and its first class service to guests has been recognized and has officially received 'The Hotel of the Year (1996), Host of the Year (1997), and House Keeper of the Year (1998) Awards.

The Golden Tulip Kumasi

A few years ago, GLAHCO acquired the then City Hotel in Kumasi and has since refurbished the facility into a 186 room hotel of the four star category which is now known as Golden Tulip Kumasi City. In January 2008, GLAHCO commissioned the former City Hotel in Kumasi into an elegant Golden Tulip Kumasi City hotel. The hotel currently has 160 luxuriously furnished air-conditioned rooms with a variety of lodging accommodation like apartments, suites, executive, deluxe, superior and standard rooms. The hotel's restaurant also offers a la carte style menu and buffets with international standards and local flavour.

Future Projects

GLAHCO Hotels and Tourism Development Company intends to expand its hospitality business into other locations such as the ongoing hotel development on the Oxford Street of Osu in Accra.
